Congratulations on your acceptance as an Annual Conference educational speaker! We hope you are as excited to speak at the 2008 Annual Conference as we are to witness your presentation inform, educate, and entertain our audiences.
We have created this section of our HIMSS 2008 Annual Conference website in order to provide you with all the information you will need to be a successful HIMSS Annual Conference speaker. This site will provide you with the following information:
This information is for those speakers taking part in the educational sessions at the 2008 Annual HIMSS Conference. If you are an Product Pavilion Session Speaker, please contact Virginia Geoghegan at 734-477-0855 or vgeoghegan@himss.org.
Below are the general deadlines in regards to your responsibilities for your 2008 Annual Conference speaking role. Please note that there will be minor deadlines along the way, not listed here, in regards to this process. These deadlines will give you at least two weeks to complete any given assignment not listed below.
All of the deadlines below have been put in place to ensure that your presentation is properly marketed and available to our Annual Conference audiences. We understand that your responsibilities as an Annual Conference education speaker are not the only responsibilities in your life, but please be aware that failure to meet these deadlines causes delays in our processes. These delays affect the ability of HIMSS to provide our audiences with the quality of information they have grown accustom to from HIMSS and the Annual Conference Because of this, failure to meet any of these deadlines will result in the prompt cancellation of your session.

| Nov 21- Dec 12 | Graphic design review of presentation materials |
| Wednesday, December 19 | Final slides and annotated briefing due to HIMSS |
| February 24-February 28 | 2008 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition in Orlando! |
Within the month of September, a conference call will be arranged for you with HIMSS staff to go over the process of presenting at the Annual Conference Two times will be made available for this call. Attendance at this call is required for all speakers new to the Annual Conference, and we invite speaking veterans to call in as well.
In addition, some of you will be provided with a reviewer coach to assist you in the preparation of your Annual Conference speaking materials. The role of this coach is to provide you with insight into the HIMSS audience, review your presentation materials, and act as a general sounding board in regards to your participation in the 2008 Annual HIMSS Conference.
