Ambulatory Professional Practicum

New this year at HIMSS, an Ambulatory Practicum will be offered on Sunday morning, April 5 prior to the opening keynote address. This series of three back-to-back educational sessions has been designed especially for Ambulatory professionals and will provide themed discussion for this audience. It will run concurrently with other education sessions. This unique, three-session Practicum is offered at no additional charge to conference attendees.

Description:
On June 10, 2008 CMS launched a five year demonstration initiative that aims to reward delivery of high-quality care supported by the adoption and use of electronic health records in physician practices. This initiative expands upon the foundation created by the Medicare Care Management Performance (MCMP) Demonstration. The goal of this 5-year demonstration is to foster the implementation and adoption of EHRs and health information technology (HIT) more broadly as effective vehicles not only to improve the quality of care provided, but also to transform the way medicine is practiced and delivered.

But it is in the practice's best interest to perform a workflow analysis prior to the HER Systems implementation. to identify areas where the practice operates well and poorly.
